This is our second crack at summing up what has happened over the last 2 weeks at Riverhead Primary.

What's up at Riverhead

This was our first attempt at creating the review of what has happened during the last two weeks at our school. We have discussed what needs to change so keep coming back to see our improvements over the next couple of weeks.

Museum Trip

The Legendary Learners went on a trip to the Auckland Museum where we were fortunate enough to learn about Maori music and weapons. The most exciting part of the trip was that we were able to play with some traditional instruments and also learn some basic movements with some traditional weapons. The following videos show exactly what we got up to.

This is the whole performance that we put together after having learned how to use our instruments. It tells the story of Papatuanuku, Ranginui and their children.

Gymnastics

 We walk into the hall with a smile, excited to learn some new gymnastic movements like cartwheels, handstands, forward rolls,back rolls and a lot of other movements.In our first lesson Steven and Pablo the awesome gym instructors.

Being Present

The Legendary Learners have been making videos and heres one about being present. Being present is about listening to whoever is talking to you and paying attention to them. This means that you should have eye contact when you are speaking to them. You must also behave sensibly. This means keeping your hands to you self, sitting still and following the instructions. This is a big part of being a Legendary Learner.  By Ella and Henry.

Star Wars The Comic Strikes Back

Why we did it ?

Because we really like Star Wars.

How we made it ?

We took images from google chrome and put them into a folder on the desktop. We put photos/images into iphoto. The photos/images had been put into Mr Bakers pictures and could be used on comic life. We used different features to create, explosions, speech bubbles and a text box, then we published it. 

The story goes like this, the bad guys take over a peaceful planet. The good guys fight them and win. Then the bad guys attack another planet the good guys fight back but the bad guys win and take over the planet.

Digging For Potatoes

Hi everyone and welcome to the Legendary Learners blog for 2015. The year has started off really well and we are really just starting to get into the swing of things. We were lucky enough last Friday to have James' Mum come in to supervise us digging the potatoes out of the school garden. Almost everyone had a real good go at digging, cleaning and cutting up the potatoes. To top it all off James' Mum cooked them for us in the school oven with some rosemary grown at school and they were delicious. It was an awesome way to finish the week.
